Hi there! We’re the team behind JawaiSafari.org, and after running safaris here for years, we can honestly say: winter is the best season to experience Jawai.
Between October and March, the mornings are crisp (around 8–12°C), days are pleasantly warm (20–25°C), and the entire landscape looks like it’s been made for wildlife viewing. If you’ve been thinking about a leopard safari in Rajasthan, this is the time to do it.
Why We Love Winter Safaris
- Leopard Sightings: Our trackers and drivers see leopards on roughly 70–80% of our winter safaris. The clear skies and dry vegetation make sightings much easier.
- Bird Heaven: More than 150 bird species arrive at Jawai Bandh each winter, including flamingos, bar-headed geese, demoiselle cranes, and pelicans.
- Comfortable Rides: Cooler weather means no sweating in open jeeps and the ability to stay out longer at sunrise and sunset — the best hours for wildlife.
What Your Winter Safari With Us Feels Like
We pick you up before dawn. You’re wrapped in a warm blanket, holding a cup of chai as our 4×4 climbs the granite hills. Rabari shepherds in bright red turbans pass with their camels; mist hangs low over the rocks.
Then, just as the sun hits the boulders, our trackers point: a leopard, stretching on a sun-warmed rock. It’s a sight you’ll never forget.
Later at Jawai Bandh, you’ll see flocks of migratory birds against the water and huge crocodiles basking on the banks. If you’re into photography, bring your lens — winter light here is dreamy.
More Than Wildlife
Winter also brings festivals and fairs in nearby villages. Our guides love introducing guests to the Rabari community. You can sip chai in a local home, see their temples, and hear stories of how they live peacefully with leopards.

- Stay Close to the Hills: We partner with luxury tented camps and boutique lodges right inside the wilderness for sunrise views and maximum comfort.
